Pascale Naessens designs furniture
Furniture makes life more pleasant, simpler and more beautiful. Furniture gives you freedom, allowing and encouraging you to live. Furniture is robust and long-lasting, yet also stylish. Furniture made with natural materials has a unique patina, which becomes even more beautiful with age. Every mark and stain tells a story; taken together, they are like a picture of life.
Pascale Naessens is the designer of a new line of furniture with all these qualities. In recent years, she has had success in various fields with her own unique combination of pureness and authenticity. This is reflected in her work as a ceramist, in her books and now also in her furniture. The remarkable success of her work shows that she knows what people feel, that she is able to strike a chord with them. She is an inspiring example of a contemporary, self-aware and creative woman.
The Pascale Naessens furniture line consists of a table, an occasional table, a wall rack and a number of accessories.
All the pieces of furniture have an oval shape and are made from oak. The oval motif was inspired by organic, natural forms and is a shape that brings people together. Oak is one of the strongest and most attractive types of wood. For Pascale's furniture, young oak is used. Every oak tree has grown in different circumstances, giving each tree a special character, expressed through its growth rings, knots, hardness, etc. It is a living material; in this sense, every piece in Pascale's line is unique.
The furniture (with the exception of the cutting boards) is available in five colors, specially designed in collaboration with WOCA, a Danish company specialized in the production of environmentally friendly staining oils. These oils allow the structure of the oak to be revealed in all its glory. They are also water-resistant and safe for use with food.
