Fresh figs with a delicious brie and vanilla sauce
This gorgeous warm brie sauce with vanilla is very subtle and goes perfectly with the sweet figs. It is almost a dessert; in fact, you could reduce the serving sizes and serve it as just that. One of my best recipes.
Slice the figs and arrange them on the plates.
Remove the rind from the brie and heat the brie together with the cream over low heat until melted. Add the vanilla extract. Stir well until you have a smooth and creamy sauce. Spoon over the figs. Garnish with the chopped nuts and some edible flowers, if desired.
Tip: edible flowers
For this dish, I used chive blossoms and lavender flower buds. You can also use whatever edible flowers are in season.
- 8 ripe figs
- 2 oz. (50 g) brie (full-fat)
- ½ cup (100 ml) whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- some chopped pistachios
